During the same period, Russia reported an exceptionally intense aerial offensive. Russian authorities stated that approximately 650 drones participated in the nighttime attack, approaching the Moscow region from multiple directions and in several waves.

Moscow's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, claimed that most of the drones were intercepted by air defenses, with 105 reportedly shot down as they neared the city.

The state agency Tass described it as one of the largest attacks on the Russian capital area in recent months, located hundreds of kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Local authorities reported at least two fatalities and nine injuries.

The governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov, stated that in Barybino, Domodedovo, rescuers recovered the body of a 71-year-old man from the rubble of a house. A woman in the same building was injured.

Another victim, a 20-year-old man, was reported in the village of Radumlya, Solnechnogorsk.

Monitoring channels suggested that some drones targeted energy infrastructure in the region, including the Volodarsk Production and Distribution Center near Konstantinov village.

These reports require independent verification.

This new offensive comes amid escalating long-range attacks between Moscow and Kyiv. Russia claims it does not intentionally target civilian infrastructure and announced plans to increase operations against Ukrainian infrastructure targets.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Kyiv aims to increase attacks on Russian refineries and other strategic infrastructure.
